Moonboard 2024 Set Technical Features

Official 2024 MoonBoard Hold Configuration: Designed to precisely match the standardized 2024 MoonBoard problem grid layout.

Compatible with MoonBoard App and Website: Once mounted, this setup is recognized in the MoonBoard app, enabling you to select the 2024 configuration and train on thousands of problems shared by the global community.

Multiple Hold Types: Includes both traditional MoonBoard “school” holds and wood holds to diversify grip styles and technical challenges.

Material and Manufacture: PE resin holds for durability; wooden holds for natural texture and additional movement nuance.

Note: This bundle does not include mounting bolts, T-nuts, or the MoonBoard LED lighting system. Those must be purchased separately.

Moonboard 2024 Set Installation

Avoid Overtightening: Torque bolts just enough to hold securely; overtightening can crack holds or strip threads. Do not use an impact driver to install your holds. We recommend using a hand tool to prevent damage.

Hold Inspection: Before use, check for cracks, chips, or excessive wear. Replace damaged holds promptly to maintain safety and performance.

Inspect Hardware: Periodically check mounting bolts and T-nuts for security; holds can loosen over time with regular use.

Moonboard 2024 Set Care

Moonboard School Holds Sets D, E and F are manufactured from polyester (PE) resin, rather than polyurethane (PU) resin, which is used for School Holds Sets A, B, C, and the Originals. The primary advantage of polyester resin is its resistance to polishing over time. This is particularly important for holds that rely heavily on friction—such as slopers and pinches—and for applications where hold positions are rarely changed, including fixed training boards like the MoonBoard.

Given the style and shaping of Moonboard Sets D, E and F, polyester resin was determined to be the more appropriate material choice. However, polyester is more susceptible to chipping or cracking if dropped or if excessive force is applied during installation. For this reason, the holds must be handled carefully during unpacking and installation. Dropping a hold onto a hard surface—or even onto another hold—can result in chipping. Applying too much torque to the mounting bolt or set screw can also cause damage.

We recommend installing the holds by hand and taking care not to overtighten either the mounting bolt or the set screw. Apply light, controlled pressure.

If handled properly during unpacking and installation, these holds will provide many years of reliable use.

For bolt-on holds that include a screw hole, we suggest pinning the hold using a small wood screw (approx. 5/32"" or 3/16"" diameter). The screw should be long enough to secure the hold through the panel for added stability.

Cleaning

Routine Wash: Remove chalk, sweat, and skin oils by washing holds with warm, soapy water. For resin holds, you can use a gentle rinse or a pressure washer on low setting; avoid high pressure on wooden holds.

Drying: After cleaning, allow holds to dry completely before remounting to prevent mold or hold surface degradation.
